Mallock
Mk28b
The car is a Mallock Mk28B (with mainly Mk27 bodywork), powered by a 1600cc MG X Power engine.
It was built as the works car for the 1990 season, driven by Nick Carr. In fourteen races, he had twelve visits to the podium and picked up four pole positions and three fastest laps. Despite all this, he only managed to finish second in the Vauxhall Championship.
In 1991, it passed into the hands of Terry Nightingale who won the BARC Sports 1600 Championship with it. I don't have many details on this season and would welcome anything coming my way. I do know
however, that current FIA GT driver Jamie Davies started his car racing career in it with a couple of outings at the end of that year.
I purchased the car in November 2001 from Philip Barak who had raced it infrequently, but with some success over the previous three or four years.
The little information I have has been scraped together from a number of sources and I would obviously be grateful to hear from anybody who can fill in some of the gaps or correct any inaccuracies.
